San Francisco City Hall The local media and community members joined together on January 11th for the Annual Press Conference of SFCAHT where leading anti-trafficking advocates, service providers, survivors and Bay Area top government and law enforcement officials announced their priorities for the year in fighting modern-day slavery. We kicked off the month long awareness campaign and honored the 2018 Modern-Day Abolitionist Award winners: Alameda County District Attorney Nancy O’Malley, Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent Melissa Saurwein & Homeland Security Investigations Victim Assistance Specialist Nicole Beeson. Press Conference Speakers Included the San Francisco District Attorney George Gascón, Acting U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of California Alex G. Teen Power Summit and Closing of the 2018 Anti-Human Trafficking Awareness Campaign and Honoring the Winners of the Teen Poster and Writing Contest

February 22, 2018 San Francisco Public Library, Koret Auditorium Youth from across the Bay Area gathered to share experiences in anti-trafficking advocacy and prevention. We honored the winners of the 2018 Teen Poster and Writing Contest. Parents, teachers, local politicians, and top government officials spoke about their work to free our communities from child slavery. Master of Ceremonies and Keynote Speaker was Russell Wilson, Anti-trafficking Expert, Consultant and Researcher. Supervisor Katy Tang presented the prizes to the winners of the contest. During the Kickoff Rally, we will have Live Entertainment by the Bay Areas Determination Group, and San Francisco Bay Area organization's resource tables so you can connect with Bay Area service providers on ways to support local efforts and how to help victims get help. We will also have Guest Speakers from leaders throughout the region that are actively addressing the issue of human trafficking. Our Speakers include: Oakland City Councilmember, Alameda County Board of Supervisors, Love Never Fails, Determination Group and S.H.A.D.E.
After the kick off Rally, join us for a power MARCH of community awareness - 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. We will MARCH from Fruitvale to 40th/International and from 40th/International to 24th/International and back. We will provide persons with bullhorns and resource cards.
