Advocates respond to mental health clients' complaints at in-patient psychiatric units, day treatment centers, residential treatment facilities, board and care facilities, SRO hotels, and community-based mental health clinics. Advocates conduct in -patient psychiatric visits upon the request of mental health patients regarding violation of their patient rights.
